Summit has a mayor-council
form of government with eight city council members, who serve
in unpaid, volunteer positions. The Summit Fire Department
consists of 27 volunteer firefighters. The town’s fire rating is a Class 5. Contact

Water, Sewer, Trash Pickup
Summit’s population receives water from the Marion County
Regional Water System, which pumps up to 2 million gallons
per day and has storage of more than 500,000 gallons.
Monthly
water rates are $12.25 for the first 1,000 gallons used and
$4.40 declining to $3.90 for successive amounts per 1,000 gallons.
The sewer rates are $14.00 for the first 1,000 gallons measured
with rates the same as water rates for additional wastewater
per 1,000 gallons.
Summit residents have trash pickup service at a monthly cost
of $9.77.

Electricity
Entergy Corporation serves
Summit with electric transmission voltages of 161,000 and
city primary voltages of 13,800. Available voltages are 110,

natural gas service to Summit with 1,000 BTUs of heat value.
